What's Next for MM Social
· 2 min read
Hello all,
Thank you for being part of the MM Social launch. It's been an exciting time getting this going, and I'm happy to say things have started off with very few issues. In this post I'd like to share what you can expect from future development, highlight some features in the pipeline, and give you a glimpse of how MM Social will keep growing.
A living platform
MM Social is meant to be a living platform that gets regular updates. I'll be actively monitoring the app, reading your feedback, and putting a consistent amount of my time into development so that each update makes this community a better place to be.
What's new in version 1.1
Version 1.1 is now live, and you may be reading this post because of it. Here's what changed:
- The MM Social blog now lives in the Profile menu, with a badge to let you know when there's a new post.
- Announcements from the MM Social team now open right in the app and can link straight to blog posts.
- Settings & Support has moved to the Profile menu, bringing notifications, permissions, membership, and recent announcements together in one place.
- More interests: you can now choose 12, up from 10.
- Faster loading for profiles in the Connect queue, photos, and long chats.
- More reliable membership restore, including after reinstalling the app.
- Bug fixes for stretched photos, photos disappearing after a restart, opening chats from matches, and signing up with Apple.
What's coming next
- Question games in chat. Fun prompts you can play together right in a conversation, an easy way to break the ice and keep things moving.
- Reactions in chat. Heart or thumbs-up any message, with photo sharing to follow.
- A new Community tab. A dedicated space in the bottom tab bar where you can read, react to, and comment on posts and ideas from other MM Social members.
And most importantly, a full Android release. MM Social is coming to Android so even more of the community can join in.
Growing the community
I'll keep spreading the word about MM Social in MM groups around the world and would appreciate anyone who can do the same to help our community grow. I'm also planning collaborations with Instagram creators to coincide with the Android launch.
Thank you for reading, and for being here from the start. Please feel free to reach out to me with ideas, or just to say hello at support@mmsocial.app.
In peace,
Justin
